National Asphalte installs interlocking pavers in Laval, on the North Shore and in Montreal, both for driveways and for walkways.
Our crew digs out the ground first, then lays the pavers on a crushed stone base.

What lies under your pavers
Our crew builds your driveway in layers.
- We dig. The excavator removes the topsoil and the soft soil, down to firm ground.
- We build the stone base. We spread the crushed stone in layers and compact them.
- We spread a layer of sand. We level it with a long straight board over the stone base, which keeps a gentle slope to carry rain away from the house.
- We lay the pavers. The pavers go into the pattern you chose, and a curb holds the edges.
- We fill the joints. Sand fills the joints, then the plate compactor settles the pavers.
The stone base carries the weight of the cars, and the sand keeps each paver at the right height.

From where you park to your door
Interlocking pavers cover the driveway where you park. They continue as a walkway toward the door, and as steps where the ground rises. You choose the colour and the pattern of the pavers. Where the ground changes level, we build a natural stone wall. For a driveway in one continuous piece, we also lay asphalt.
How interlocking pavers are repaired
Interlocking pavers can be repaired piece by piece. A stained or cracked paver comes out, and a new one takes its place. If you ever need to dig underneath, for a pipe or a drain, we lift the pavers. They go back in place once the work is done.
