Under your driveway, we lay a stone base before the asphalt or interlocking pavers.

You deal with one contractor for the whole job. We prepare the ground and the crushed stone base first, then we lay the surface of your choice. We come to see your property, and the estimate is free.

LEVEL 01 EXCAVATION

We prepare the ground

First, we dig out the ground with an excavator, then grading gives your lot the slope that sends water away from the house. We also dig along the foundation to install a French drain or basement window wells. On a wooded lot, we also do the land clearing: the trees, the stumps and the access road.

LEVEL 02 STONE BASE

A stone base under your driveway

Between the excavated ground and the surface, we lay a stone base and compact it. It carries the weight of cars and lets water drain away, which limits the effect of frost under your driveway.

LEVEL 03 SURFACE

The surface you will see

On that stone base, we build your driveway in asphalt or interlocking pavers. We also do concrete work, and we repair surfaces that crack or sink.

A new asphalt driveway, edged with pavers on both sides, leads to a double garage.

LEVEL 04 SURROUNDINGS

Curbs and stone around the house

Curbs frame the driveway and hold its edges in place. In natural stone, we build walls and steps, right up to the landing at your front door.

A plan and support for your project

Before the work starts, a landscape design plan from our designer service shows you what is planned for your property. We also offer project support and keep an eye on the work until it is done.

Under the surface

The drawing shows a driveway from the bottom up, layer by layer. The native soil is at the bottom, the compacted stone base fills the excavated space, and the surface covers it.

From a home driveway to a municipal job

  • ResidentialFor a home, we build the driveway and its surroundings, and the French drain around the foundation.
  • CommercialFor a business, we prepare and pave the parking lot, with its curbs.
  • IndustrialFor an industrial site, we build a stone base that carries the weight of trucks.
  • MunicipalFor a municipality, we do the excavation and paving.

Common questions

Who does driveway excavation and paving in Laval?

National Asphalte does both, in Laval, on the North Shore and in Montreal. We dig out the ground and lay a compacted stone base, then pave your driveway with asphalt or interlocking pavers.

Do you also do commercial parking lots?

Yes. National Asphalte works for residential, commercial, industrial and municipal clients. For a parking lot, we prepare the ground and the stone base, then we lay the asphalt and the curbs. A yard where trucks drive needs a stone base built for that weight.
