National Asphalte does land clearing in the Laurentians, around Sainte-Adèle and Saint-Sauveur, and in Lanaudière, around Sainte-Julienne and Saint-Esprit.
We cut the trees where the road will run and where the house will go.
Then we remove the stumps and build a crushed stone access road up to the house site.
The estimate is free.

How we clear your lot

  1. We walk the lot with you. Together, we pick where the road will run and where the house will go.
  2. We clear the trees. We cut the trees along the route and on the house site we picked together. If your municipality requires a permit to cut trees, you need it before this step.
  3. We remove the stumps. Without them, the ground can be dug and compacted.
  4. We build the access road. The excavator strips the topsoil off the route down to firm ground. Then we spread the crushed stone, and the compactor packs it down.

Once the road is in, your builder’s trucks and equipment can get all the way to the house site.

What comes next

If you ask, we also dig for the foundation of the house. National Asphalte also does excavation, grading and French drains. Later, once the house is built, the road can be paved with asphalt.

Common questions

How much does it cost to open a wooded lot?

The price depends on how many trees have to come down, how long the road is and how easy the lot is to reach. After our visit, we give you a free estimate.

Do I need a permit to cut the trees?

Some municipalities do require one. Ask yours before the work starts.

Can the road be paved later?

Yes. The road already sits on compacted crushed stone. Once your house is built, we first check the road’s condition, then give you an estimate to pave it.
